FAQs - Falcon Boxes
How much room do you need to deliver a Falcon Box?
- Boxes are delivered on a tiltbed trailer.
- 40’ boxes need 100’ of straight clearance.
- 20’ boxes need 60’ of straight clearance.
- The width requirement for both is 10’.
- The height requirement for both is 13’ to avoid overhead obstructions such as branches and power lines.
- Falcon Boxes can be delivered to almost any type of surface: asphalt, concrete, paving, gravel, and firm packed dirt.
Will you move a loaded Falcon Box?
- Unfortunately, no. Falcon Boxes weigh from 5,000 to 9,000 lbs. empty. As such, our equipment is not designed to move one that is loaded.
- However, if you do need us to move your stuff inside a container, we can rent you a Go Mini moving container which is lightweight and designed especially for moving. Go Mini’s come in 3 different sizes.
Why do you paint the Falcon Box green?
- We strive to make our containers as environmentally and eco-friendly as possible. Since Central Texas’ natural color is a hill country green, we decided to paint our containers to blend into the background.
- We also find that it’s harder to see a green box at night, so it doesn’t draw the attention of thieves and vandals.
Are your containers weatherproof?
- Before any Falcon Box leaves our yard, we test it to make sure that it is wind and water tight.
- We’ve even heard that shipping containers float when they fall off ships.
- If you are keeping the container for a long term, it is wise to inspect the container from time to time. Because they are made of steel, containers do eventually rust. If your container needs maintenance, call us, and we’ll be right out to fix it, free of charge.
How hot does it get inside a Falcon Box?
- On the hottest day of August last year when the outside temperature was 100 degrees, we conducted a study using two thermostats: one inside a car and one inside a container.
- The one in the car registered 150 degrees.
- The one inside the container registered only 119 degrees.
